History of Hillhead CC

Every year the clubs annual fundraising dinner is know as the Craik Cup dinner.

This is in honour of James Craik who was a Hillhead pupil from 1918 to 1930 (pictured right). A qualified pharmacist and later optician he answered the call to fight in 1940. In 1941 he joined the RAF and rose to the rank of Flight Lieutenant. In 1945 he was shot down over the town of Gefell in Saxony.
