About Us

Welcome to the Hillhead Cricket Club website. We are a proud part of the
Hillhead Sports Club based at Hughenden in Glasgow’s West End. The sports club’s roots come from the formation of the Hillhead High School War
Memorial Trust in May 1924. We run two Saturday teams, the 1st XI are
competing in the Premiership 3rd Division in 2023 and the 2nd XI are competing in the Championship 2nd Division. We also have a packed Sunday and Midweek fixture list to ensure that we are able to offer cricketers of all abilities the chance to take the field.

Our club is easily accessible being situated in the heart of Glasgow’s West End – about 5 minutes by car from Byres Road and within walking distance of Hyndland railway station. There are plenty of opportunities for players of all standards to train and play in matches – new members are always welcome at the club! Saturday fixtures will be 50 overs a side for both the first XI and second XI. Both competitions commence at 12.00. There are Midweek games (the Western cup and Evening League) as well as a Sunday team. These formats allow some of our younger or more inexperienced players to enjoy Senior cricket in a competitive and enjoyable environment. Senior training takes place at 6.00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Hughenden. More detailed information can be found on our website pages.

We have an excellent Junior section supported by our UKCC-qualified
coaches and parent-volunteers – catering for ages 5 and up – with several
different teams playing weekly competitive fixtures during the summer
